Projects List of the Tempelhof-Schöneberg District

The district office of Tempelhof-Schöneberg approved the first version of the district projects list in December 2023. It is based on the guidelines for citizen participation in the district, which were adopted in the previous year. The list provides an overview of planned and ongoing district projects in Tempelhof-Schöneberg and indicates when and where public participation is planned. The projects on the list are regularly updated, and new projects are added. The project list enables you to obtain early and clear information.

Currently, the Raum für Beteiligung team is in the process of inputting all project profiles from the district projects list onto the participation platform mein.berlin. You can find an overview of the profiles at the bottom of this website.

Which projects are included in the projects list?

The projects list includes projects of the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district that fulfill the following criteria according to the guidelines for citizen participation:

  • Citizen participation is required by law
  • Citizens have an interest in a project; the focus should be on the public interest in the project
  • Symbolic character of the project for the entire city or district
  • High public financial expenditure
  • Significant intervention in the environment, the social, green, traffic, and urban infrastructure and people’s housing situation
  • The project means a significant change to the neighbourhood
  • It has an impact on existing neighbourhoods
  • Disposal of properties in the district or if they are assigned to a new purpose

Projects at the state or federal level that have implications for the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district should also be included in the project list.

The project list includes not only ongoing or planned projects but also those that have already been completed. These may include, for example, zoning plans that have reached planning maturity or have been finalized. Additionally, conceptual developments may also be included. Why is it important to list such projects? Because they are the foundation for measures that refer to or build upon these projects.

Who compiles the projects list?

The Raum für Beteiligung team, in collaboration with the responsible employee from the specialized departments of the district office, creates the profiles for the list. If participation is planned, an additional participation concept is developed. This concept transparently outlines the opportunities for citizen participation. And it ensures that citizens can quickly and clearly inform themselves.

Each district in Berlin has a Raum für Beteiligung. There is also a Zentraler Raum für Beteiligung where you can ask questions about projects in the state of Berlin. This includes projects of the state of Berlin that are implemented within the district.

How is the project list structured?

The project profiles are assigned to the six wards of Tempelhof-Schöneberg so that projects can be found quickly:

  • Schöneberg
  • Friedenau
  • Tempelhof
  • Mariendorf
  • Marienfelde
  • Lichtenrade

Projects that have an impact on more than one neighborhood are listed as cross-neighborhood projects. If there is a participation concept for a project, it is indicated in the profile.

Where can I find the projects list?

The district projects list is digitally and centrally updated on the participation platform mein.berlin. This digital platform was specifically designed for all Berliners to provide information about projects of the Berlin administration.
