Climate change, along with associated extreme weather events and high temperatures in summer, is regularly present in our daily lives. Therefore, in summer of 2023 the LAGeSo launched a heat protection campaign. The goal is to inform citizens about continuously rising temperatures in summer and the occurrence of heatwaves. Furthermore, it aims to raise awareness about heat-related issues and how to handle the heat.
In this context, 242,000 postcards and 35,000 information flyers were distributed last year through 21 partners, including the districts of Berlin, the Chamber of Pharmacists, and organizations for homeless people. Additionally, indoor advertisements were placed in public transport for two months, including 1,000 side panels in the subway and 350 side panels in trams, which contained tips for dealing with heat. A short promotional video was produced and broadcasted via the “Berliner Fenster” (Berlin subway television).
This year, over 100,000 redesigned information flyers were printed and distributed to various partners, including the Berlin Hospital Association, Care facilities and neighbourhood meeting places as new partners. Indoor advertising in local public transport has been adjusted and redesigned with 1,000 side panels for the subway, 350 for trams and 1,000 for the S-Bahn as part of this year’s three months campaign. The promotional video for the “Berliner Fenster” will be available online exclusively.
