Since you apparently work for the Berlin government, I wanted to relate to you how impressed my wife and I were with our recent visit to your city. Our visit to the Holocaust memorial and Information Center was very moving. As a Jew who was fortunate enough to barely escape in 1940 from Belgium with my parents and sister, it was especially moving that Germany and, in particular, Berlin, built so sensitive and heartfelt a memorial. It was wonderful to see so many young people at the center. It is important that we never forget and that we learn. I thank you and Berlin.
We spent five days in your beautiful city and I think that for five days “Ich bin auch ein Berliner”.
