The Berlin Senate Department for Health has set up a new e-mail address for questions relating to the Cannabis Act.
Citizens can send their inquiries to Konsumcannabisgesetz-Berlin@SenWGP.Berlin.de,announced. In addition, a topic page bundling all the most important information will soon be set up on the senate department's website.
Three months after the legalization of cannabis for adults and private cultivation with numerous requirements, a second stage of the law came into force on July 1. Since then, non-commercial "cultivation associations" with up to 500 members have been able to get started. People of legal age can grow cannabis together there and supply it to each other for personal consumption. The clubs must apply for a permit, and the law also provides for regular inspections.
"The Senate Department for Health is working intensively on the implementation of the KCanG (Consumer Cannabis Act) in consultation with the Senate Chancellery and all relevant administrations and districts," a spokesperson said. According to the statement, the ordinance is currently being prepared for the co-signing procedure with the relevant Senate administrations in order to be presented to the Senate. The Council of District Mayors will then be given the opportunity to comment. "In the final step, the ordinance will be submitted to the House of Representatives for information." The senate department did not provide any details on the exact time frame. A draft for a list of fines has already been drawn up.
