Due to two major events, traffic participants must expect significant restrictions this weekend.
Numerous fans are expected to attend the DFB Cup Final on Saturday. According to the Berlin Traffic Information Center (VIZ), significant traffic restrictions are expected, especially in the City West neighborhood. Those wishing to attend the match or the associated fan festivities should travel by bicycle or public transport.
For the bicycle rally of the ADFC, there will be road closures throughout the city on Sunday. The Avus and the Berliner Stadtring are both affected. Starting at 11 a.m., there will be restrictions and closures on Königstraße, Potsdamer Chaussee, Messedamm, Kantstraße, Bismarckstraße, Ernst-Reuter-Platz, Straße des 17. Juni, Grenzallee, Buschkrugallee, Silbersteinstraße, Oberlandstraße and Großer Stern. The Avus and A100 freeways are expected to be closed between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The sections affected are those between the Zehlendorf interchange and the Funkturm interchange (Avus), as well as between Späthstraße and Messedamm (A100 toward Wedding) and Spandauer Damm and Späthstraße (A100 toward Neukölln). VIZ recommends using public transportation or bicycles in the inner city area.
On Sunday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., the Berlin Triathlon will take place in Plänterwald. Bulgarische Straße and Neue Krugallee will be completely closed. Köpenicker Landstrasse will be impassable in the direction of the city from Baumschulenstraße between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
