Incidence in Berlin drops to 321

Corona-Tests

Samples for corona tests are prepared for further examination.

The incidence of corona in Berlin has again fallen slightly. It was around 321 on Wednesday, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

Previously, the number of new registered infections within seven days per 100,000 people had been slightly above 340. The RKI gave the nationwide incidence as around 407. 2237 new Corona infections were recorded in Berlin within one day. This brought the total number registered since the start of the pandemic in spring 2020 to 1,033,525.

However, experts assume that many Corona cases are not recorded because positive rapid tests are not always followed by a PCR test. Only these are counted in the statistics. In addition, not all health offices report their data on a daily basis, especially at the weekend and at the beginning of the week there can be a delay. In Berlin, 6 new deaths were registered, a total of 4562 deaths related to Corona infections have been counted since the beginning of the pandemic.
