Avus to be renovated for almost two years

Berlin - Avus wieder offen

From Monday, drivers on the A115 motorway in south-west Berlin will have to prepare for almost two years of obstructions.

The Avus motorway will be renovated between the Spanische Allee junction and the Berlin/Brandenburg state border until August 2026. A section of around 2.2 kilometres is affected, as announced by Autobahn GmbH. Around 85,000 vehicles travel along this stretch every day.

Renewal of bridges, retaining walls, drainage systems, road markings and ramps

In addition to the carriageway, bridges, retaining walls, drainage systems, road markings and the ramps at the Zehlendorf junction and the Spanische Allee junction are to be renewed in four construction phases. The stretch of road has been in need of renovation since 2017, according to Autobahn GmbH.
