The corona incidence in Berlin has increased slightly according to official statistics.
On Saturday, it was 375.4, according to the Senate, after just under 357 the day before. The value indicates the number of registered new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days. The Robert Koch Institute gave the nationwide figure as 477, slightly less than the day before.
For Berlin, the Senate recorded 2344 new infections within one day. Since the beginning of the pandemic in spring 2020, a good one million infections have been registered in the capital. On Saturday, twelve new deaths were reported in connection with Corona; since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 4556 in Berlin.
Experts assume that many Corona cases are not recorded because positive rapid tests are not always followed by a PCR test. Only these are counted in the statistics. In addition, not all health offices report their data on a daily basis, especially at the weekend and at the beginning of the week.
