The Coronavirus incidence in Berlin has hardly changed and was at just under 348 on Thursday (May 12, 2022) according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
On the previous days, the number of new infections within seven days per 100,000 people had reached similar values. The nationwide incidence was reported by the RKI on Thursday at around 502 - a value that also hardly changed.
Almost 2900 new infections were reported for Berlin within one day. Since the beginning of the pandemic in spring 2020, slightly more than one million infections have been registered in the capital. According to the statistics, 8 new deaths were reported, bringing the total number of deaths related to Coronavirus infections in Berlin since the start of the pandemic to 4536.
However, experts assume that many cases are not recorded because not all rapid tests are reliable and because positive rapid tests are not always followed by a PCR test. In addition, not all health offices report their data on a daily basis. especially on weekends and at the beginning of the week. There may therefore be a delay.
