Most Coronavirus restrictions will soon be dropped in Berlin. From Friday onwards, only a number of so-called basic protections will apply.
This was decided by the Senate on Tuesday (29 March 2022) at its joint meeting with the Brandenburg state government in Frankfurt/Oder. The basic protection includes, for example, the obligation to wear masks on public transport and in facilities such as doctors' offices, hospitals, day clinics, care facilities and accommodation for the homeless.
The state of Berlin is thus adopting the requirements of the federal Infection Protection Act, as the Senate Chancellery announced on Tuesday. The new ordinance is to come into force on Friday (01 April 2022).
