The Coronavirus incidence in Berlin has risen again, but still remains well below the national average.
As of Tuesday morning (March 15, 2022), the incidence was at 871.8, according to the Senate's situation report. On Monday, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days was 765.6. The Robert Koch Institute reported a peak in the nationwide seven-day incidence, giving it as 1585.4.
However, experts assume that a high number of infection cases are not recorded in the official data. One reason for this, among other things, is the limited capacity of public health departments to track infections.
The number of new Coronavirus infections within one day was 9372 in Berlin, bringing the total number of people confirmed to have been infected to 807,820 since the start of the pandemic in the spring of 2020. Eight more people have died in connection with the virus, bringing the total number of deaths in Berlin to 4305.
