Im Berliner Bezirk Spandau gibt es ein drittes Bürgeramt. Die Einrichtung wurde im Beisein des Regierenden Bürgermeisters Kai Wegner (CDU) im Staaken-Center feierlich eröffnet.
The citizens‘ office in the shopping centre in Wegner's home district is to be a modern and central point of contact for citizens’ concerns - and offer up to 3,000 additional appointments per month.
The aim is to relieve the burden not only on the authorities in Spandau, but throughout the entire city. The Berlin Senate has announced several additional citizens' offices to alleviate the chronic overload of the existing ones. "Our aim is for people to be able to deal with their concerns quickly and easily at the citizens' office," said Wegner. According to the head of government, progress is being made with the location, additional positions for all citizens' offices as well as a "jumper pool" and other digital services.
According to the district, the project was realised within a year. Gregor Kempert (SPD), District Councillor for Social Affairs and Citizens' Services, thanked the Senate for its support. With the new citizens' office in the densely populated region, social responsibility is being taken on and local services are being expanded. A contact centre is to be opened in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district this year. More are to follow next year in Treptow-Köpenick and Pankow. There is already a new citizens' office in Berlin-Mitte.
