Holiday swimming courses for around 6,500 children
More than 6,500 children in Berlin learned to swim or improved their swimming skills in intensive courses during the school holidays this year. more

The current summer heat continues to have Berlin and Brandenburg firmly in its grip: The German Weather Service (DWD) has forecast up to 31 degrees for today and even more for tomorrow.
Only a few cumulus clouds will appear, most of the time it will remain sunny. No precipitation is expected.
It will remain mostly cloudless on Thursday night. During the day, maximum temperatures of 32 to 35 degrees will break this year's temperature record in Berlin and Brandenburg. On 10 July, 34.8 degrees were measured in southern Brandenburg. The DWD issued an official heat warning for Thursday. In addition, the day starts sunny before more and more clouds form later on.
The weather will then start to change on Friday night: According to the forecast, some regions will see the first showers and thunderstorms. It will be similar on Friday. The maximum temperatures of 24 to 28 degrees will be accompanied by gusts of wind and precipitation at times. At the weekend, it will be clear to cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms possible in southern Brandenburg.
