The average grade of the Berlin Abitur graduates is 2.3. A total of 461 of them passed their Abitur with the top grade of 1.0, according to the Senate Department for Education.
Of the 14,915 students who took the Abitur exams, 13,996 passed. This corresponds to 93.8 percent. The previous year's figure was slightly better at 96.4 percent.
In contrast, the average grade has not changed compared to 2023. Just one year before, it was 2.2 and in the years before the pandemic it was regularly 2.4, according to the education administration. 75 pupils at integrated secondary schools and community schools achieved the top grade of 1.0 in the examinations for the intermediate school-leaving certificate (MSA) and the extended vocational training entrance qualification.
Senator for Education Katharina Günther-Wünsch (CDU) said she was delighted with the outstanding achievements of the students. "These top grades are proof of the high level of commitment and hard work of both our students and our teachers."
