The Swiss World Economic Forum (WEF) wants to establish a branch for digital administrations in Berlin.
The new center will be located at the GovTech campus of the Federal Ministry of the Interior in Berlin, the Senate Chancellery announced on Monday. GovTech stands for government technology. The WEF signed a corresponding memorandum of understanding last week with Berlin State Secretary for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization Martina Klement. The campus is considered a platform for collaboration between science, business, tech companies and the government.
The WEF is a foundation and lobbying organization headquartered in Cologny, Switzerland. The forum is best known for its annual meeting in Davos. Nothing was initially disclosed about the schedule for the WEF Center in Berlin. Cooperation with the GovTech Campus will be discussed in the coming months and presented at the next World Economic Forum in Davos in January.
