Schwimmbad

Due to the high summer temperatures, the outdoor swimming pool Gropiusstadt in Neukölln will be temporarily opened this weekend.

The open-air pool has actually been closed since 3 September, said a spokesperson for the Berliner Bäder-Betriebe (BBB). A total of 19 lidos and outdoor swimming pools in Berlin invite visitors to swim and splash around on Saturday and Sunday, the BBB announced on Friday.

Extended opening hours at several outdoor pools

Some outdoor pools are also offering extended opening hours this weekend. The Humboldthain and Wannsee summer pools are open one hour longer and close at 6 pm (Humboldthain) and 7 pm (Wannsee) respectively. At the Olympiastadion summer pool you can sunbathe for half an hour longer - it is open until 6.30 pm. Berlin is expected to be hot and sunny at the weekend. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), temperatures of up to 31 degrees are expected on Saturday, and up to 32 degrees on Sunday.
