Holiday swimming courses for around 6,500 children
More than 6,500 children in Berlin learned to swim or improved their swimming skills in intensive courses during the school holidays this year. more

The number of children and young people who have fled from Ukraine has continued to rise at schools in Berlin.
According to data from the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany (KMK) published on Tuesday, the number last week was 3293. 3021 Ukrainian children and young people had been in schools the week before. Nationwide, 113,584 girls and boys from Ukraine are currently being taught in this country. Bavaria (22,301), North Rhine-Westphalia (20,362) and Baden-Württemberg (16,316) continue to report the most admissions to date. In mid-April, KMK President Karin Prien (CDU) had mentioned a possible order of magnitude of up to 400,000 refugee pupils who could be accommodated at schools. In total, there are about 11 million pupils in Germany.
