Corona incidence in Berlin has fallen further to 687.7, according to data released by the health administration on Wednesday (09 March 2022).
The value, which indicates the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, was thus significantly lower than that of the previous day (853.1) one day after the holiday in Berlin. For all of Germany, on the other hand, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) recorded an increase in the seven-day incidence for the seventh day in a row and gave the average value on Wednesday morning as 1319.0. A week ago, the nationwide incidence was 1171.9 (previous month: 1450.8).
Experts assume a high number of cases that are not recorded in the RKI data. One reason is the limited capacities of health offices, for example; contacts are often only followed up to a limited extent. 625 new Corona infections were last registered in Berlin within one day, bringing the total number to 775,247. Two new deaths related to the virus were added, bringing the total in the capital to 4281 since the start of the pandemic.
