Magic wands, costumes and the Snitch: The exhibition in the Filmpark Potsdam presents objects from all eight films of the Harry Potter series.
The books by author J.K. Rowling about the adventures of the young magician Harry Potter and his friends reached a whole generation, the films enchanted millions. Harry is a normal, somewhat lonely eleven-year-old who grows up with his aunt and uncle after the death of his parents. One day, however, he receives a letter that changes his life, because Harry is a magician. A new world full of magic and adventure, but also full of danger, opens up for him, because the mighty magician Voldemort has killed his parents, was seriously injured and is now seeking revenge on Harry. Fortunately, he meets Ron and Hermione, who will survive every adventure with him.
His life at Hogwart's magic school, his fight against Voldemort, his Quidditch passion were staged with powerful images. In order to bring Rowling's fantastic world to life, thousands of magical objects were created for the films. In an exhibition that has been growing steadily since 2009, they travel around the world and offer fans an insight into the enchanted world of Hogwarts.
The exhibition presents objects from all eight films of the Harry Potter series. The magic wands and costumes of the trio, but also the Quidditch utensils, such as the Nimbus 2000, the lightning-fast Snitch and the Quaffel. Visitors can even try out for themselves how they would perform on the pitch - but not at a height of 30m. The legendary Hogwarts Express, which annually brings the young witches and magicians to school, the screaming Mandragora root, models of the magical beings, the masks of the Death Eaters and much more is shown. To allow visitors to immerse themselves completely in the Harry Potter world, the exhibition rooms are based on the Gryffindor room, the large hall and Hagrid's hut.
