25th Anniversary of the Gemäldegalerie

A big anniversary party at the Kulturforum: The Gemäldegalerie celebrates its 25th anniversary with a free festival.

Interested visitors can look forward to a wide range of entertainment and educational activities. Admission to the various exhibitions in the Gemäldegalerie as well as to all program items is free of charge.

Changing Lights: Program Highlights

As part of the anniversary, the museum is also celebrating its new lighting system, which allows the artworks to shine in a completely new light. Under the motto "Changing Lights", numerous guided tours throughout the day will focus on the theme of light in painting. Visitors can explore works by Caravaggio, Rembrandt, van Eyck, Vermeer and others. The program also includes offers for families such as an open workshop on light and color and guided tours suitable for children. Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Dickey Doo from 9 p.m. onward. Experience stations, games, film screenings and discussions round off the festival program.
