Louise Bourgeois: The Woven Child

With «The Woven Child», Berlin's Gropius Bau is dedicating a major exhibition to the textile work of French-American artist Louise Bourgeois.

The artworks shown as part of the retrospective at the Gropius Bau were created during the final chapter of Louise Bourgeois' eventful career and are among her most haunting and intimate works. Through a variety of sculptures, installations, drawings, collages, books and prints, the exhibition reveals the artist's lifelong connection to textiles - and the memories they hold. The Woven Child comprises one of the most extensive late works in art history and is the largest exhibition of Louise Bourgeois ever shown in Berlin. Numerous works are also on view in Germany for the first time.
