Berlin's Bebelplatz will be transformed into a huge open-air bookstore with an extensive stage program for the Berlin Book Festival.
Berlin publishers and bookstores will be informing visitors about their work at around 100 stands. Publishers, authors and book fans can meet and exchange book recommendations at the Berliner Bücherfest (Berlin Book Festival) on Bebelplatz.
The event focuses on reading and listening: there will be book readings by celebrities as well as readings by young authors. Another highlights are the "Cluster Talks," in which authors discuss specific topics from different points of view. The topics discussed include life in the city, distribution of global wealth, and life with smartphones. Hands-on activities for young visitors and several food trucks with a variety of delicacies round off the Book Festival program.
