Berlin Ladies Open

Grass Court Championships Berlin

The international elite of women's tennis returns to Berlin. The Berlin Ladies Open presented by ecotrans Group will be held at the LTTC Rot-Weiß.

Steffi Graf has taken over this year's patronage of the grass tournament, which is regarded as preparation for the Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon. To mark the occasion, the 7,000-capacity Steffi Graf Stadium will have three grass courts on which the players will compete for the prize money of 823,000 euros.

Berlin Ladies Open as Worthy Successor to the German Open

"Berlin was a highly respected international tournament venue from 1979 to 2008 with the German Open," said a statement from the organisers in September. In Berlin's Grunewald, where the tournament was previously played on clay and Germany's former top player Steffi Graf won nine times, the current German stars will now also play on grass.
