Weißensee: Residential Areas & Infrastructure

Life in Weißensee is still relatively cheap and quiet compared to the neighboring district of Prenzlauer Berg.

Residential Areas

Weissensee tends to have a small-town character, and the height of the buildings decreases toward the north, except for a few new development areas in Malchow and Karow.

Location

Weißensee is located in the north of Berlin, partly bordering the state of Brandenburg.

Public Transport

Public transport is limited to buses and trams, with which you can quickly reach the eastern center of Berlin. Heinersdorf, Blankenburg and Karow are also connected to the city train lines S2 and S8, respectively.

Traffic Axes

Heinersdorf has a highway feeder road (the A114 starts here). Via the B2 you can reach the Berliner Ring. The main roads in Weißensee are Berliner Allee/ Malchower Chaussee/ Dorfstraße (B2), Karower Damm/ Blakenburger Chaussee/ Bucher Chaussee and Romain-Rolland-Straße/ Rennbahnstraße.
