At the Open Day, interested visitors can take a look behind almost all the doors of the impressive Berlin State Library Unter den Linden building and immerse themselves in the diversity of the world of books.
The "Stabi" is celebrating its 110th birthday in style with a wide-ranging programme. There will be all sorts of things to discover behind the scenes of the State Library between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. Bookworms will be just as entertained by the varied programme as families with children and fans of digitalisation.
The extensive program attracts visitors with hands-on activities - for example on the subject of artificial intelligence, picture agency or fact checks -, guided tours of the Stabi's work and the building, an open bookbinding workshop and numerous other opportunities to get to know the State Library - from book sponsorships to exhibitions. Younger visitors can look forward to an interactive children's programme. To round off the evening, sound artist Chica Paula will be playing while refreshing drinks are served at the bar.
