On September 02, 2023, the farewell to Terminal 5 of BER Airport and the 20th anniversary of the Schönefeld municipality will be celebrated with a large family festival and guided tours.
On September 02, 2023, terminal 5 of Berlin Brandenburg Airport will be the venue for two celebrations at once: The Schönefeld municipality will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a large family festival and, at the same time, the airport company will say goodbye to the terminal area.
The festival will take place in the parking lot in front of the former Terminal 5 of BER Airport. The community invites all interested parties to celebrate 20 years of Schönefeld. Starting at 12 noon, a diverse stage program will entertain visitors with music. For young visitors, there will also be a bouncy castle, face painting and an entertainment program. The fire departments of the municipality and the airport will also present themselves at the festival.
Interested visitors can take tours of the now decommissioned Terminal 5, including the visitors' terrace, or find out more about community life in Schönefeld, the history of the airport site and future projects at numerous information stands. Employees of the airport present their work and provide information about job prospects at BER. The local fire department will also be on site. Anyone who would like to talk to representatives of the region can take a seat at a long table with coffee and cake from 2.30 p.m. onwards. From 10:30 p.m., DJ BOW-tanic invites you to a last dance in front of Terminal 5 of the BER.
