The Haus der Kulturen der Welt opens its 2023 season with a grand three-day celebration under the headline "Acts of Opening Again."
The focus of the celebration is on sharing and communal experiences. A diverse entertainment program will invite attendees to laugh, dance, talk, walk, explore and eat. Various rituals and ceremonies from around the world - from breaking bread to symbolic offerings - invite those interested to become part of the house.
The program includes concerts by Oumou Sangaré, Awilo Longomba and Estrellas del Caribe as well as performances by María Magdalena, Campos Pons, Tanka Fonta, Jean-Daniel Lafontant, Masimba Hwati and Bernardo Oyarzún. In addition, the exhibition "O Quilombismo: Of Resistance and Insistence. Of flight as attack. Of alternative democratic-egalitarian political philosophies" will also open as part of the reopening festival.
