The Christmas market on Alexanderplatz in the heart of Berlin is a mix between a traditional market, a funfair and a party venue.
The Christmas Market on Alexanderplatz is one of the busiest in Berlin. At more than 100 stalls, vendors sell traditional crafts and Christmas decorations as well as jewelry and various tchotchkes. The smells of Bratwurst, gingerbread and mulled wine waft through the air on Berlin's most famous square.
A special feature of the market is the Christmas pyramid decorated with more than 5000 lights - the biggest walk-in Christmas pyramid in Europe. On the ground floor of the pyramid, snacks and refreshments are available, while the platform on top offers nice views of the city.
Those in search of entertainment will enjoy the daily show programs, fairground rides for children, and the Ferris wheel nearby. From the top of the wheel, visitors can enjoy the view over the illuminated Alexanderplatz with the hustle and bustle between the stands and market attractions. For the more active visitors, there is an roller skating rink . The market also offers a party venue resembling a traditional wooden hut, where adult visitors can enjoy a drink and dance well into the night.
