Sunday and Monday showed incidence values - figures which indicate how many new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported in the past seven days - of around 265. The RKI further pointed out that, as was the case over Christmas, in the days around the turn of the year fewer tests and infection reports are to be expected. The available data could therefore still be incomplete.

According to RKI data, 3196 new infections were registered in Berlin between Monday and Tuesday. The total number of all detected Covid cases since the beginning of the pandemic thus rose to just under 335,000. There were four new deaths related to Covid-19. According to RKI data, this means that 4020 people have died in Berlin in connection with a Coronavirus infection since the beginning of the pandemic.
