There is a lot for school classes to see and discover on a school trip to Berlin. With a hop-on hop-off bus tour, you can combine a leisurely city tour with numerous opportunities to explore Berlin's sights on your own.
Past the historic buildings of the old East and West Berlin, through the middle of the green Tiergarten and along numerous hotspots through the diverse, vibrant city centre: the view from the bus alone provides an exciting insight into the different facets of Berlin. Sheltered when it rains and in an open double-decker when the sun shines - the city tour is a great way for school classes to discover Berlin comfortably and in a short space of time.
Two different routes can be taken with one ticket. The first bus route covers Berlin city centre with Museum Island, Brandenburg Gate and Potsdamer Platz. On the second route, students experience the diverse east of the city with its alternative and dynamic neighbourhoods, including the East Side Gallery.
In order to understand historical places and get a feel for the real Berlin of the present, you often need up-close moments directly at the site of the events. Perhaps you would like to get off at the Brandenburg Gate to delve deeper into history? Or would you like to give your students some time for a shopping experience at Kurfürstendamm or Alexa? Hop off! Simply get off the bus at one of the stops right next to Berlin's main hotspots and continue your city tour on one of the next buses. Which side of the capital do you want to show your students?
n addition to the imposing representative buildings from the GDR era, such as the television tower and world clock, Alexanderplatz offers your school class the dynamic feeling of one of the most famous corners of Berlin. The perfect opportunity for a little shopping or a break in one of the many cafés and restaurants.
Getting off at least briefly at the Brandenburg Gate is almost a must on a city tour of Berlin. For your school class, the famous building will be the perfect place for selfies and souvenir photos. This exit is also a good starting point for inspecting the government district with the Reichstag, Chancellery etc. on foot.
Especially when the weather is nice, it's worth getting off at the Victory Column. Your school class can enjoy the magnificent view of the city from the viewing platform, which is over 50 metres high. In addition, one of the largest and most beautiful parks in the capital is located here, around the Großer Stern - the Großer Tiergarten. There is plenty of space here for picnics, football matches and other joint activities.
There are many other Berlin highlights for your school class to discover on the city tour. For example, the bus routes also take you past the following sights:
1. Where and when does the tour start?
Hop on with your school class at any stop on the red or blue line, for example at the main railway station or Alexanderplatz. The hop-on hop-off buses stop approximately every 20 minutes from morning to afternoon.
2. How long does the tour last?
A bus needs about two and a half hours for the whole city tour on the red line, the whole tour on the blue line takes about an hour. However, as you can get on and off the bus with your students at any time, your Berlin tour will take as long as you like.
You will receive the online ticket by email after booking. You can simply show it to your entire school class on your smartphone.
Note: The ticket is valid for a continuous period of 24 hours on the day of your choice. You can change the day specified at the time of booking to another day free of charge within one year.
