August promises many hours of sunshine: The average August weather in Berlin.

In August the summer has finally arrived in Berlin. With an average of 23.4 degrees it is the warmest month of the whole year. The sun shines almost seven hours a day and only an average of eight days bring precipitation. However, at 51 millimetres, it is not exactly little precipitation that falls on Berlin when it rains. Even small storms with heavy rain and thunderstorms are not unusual in the Berlin summer. Many people are happy about the cooling effect that summer rain brings. Especially in July and August, heat accumulates in Berlin-Mitte and the numerous green spaces and parks are happy about every single drop. If an ice cream or a cool drink in a Berlin beach bar is not enough, you should either visit an outdoor swimming pool or plan a visit to one of the air-conditioned museums.
