Berlin's new central airport, the Airport Berlin Brandenburg "Willy Brandt" (BER), was official opened in 2020 to replaced the former airports Tegel. BER Airport offers direct flight connections to destinations in Germany, Europe and the world.
BER Airport is located on the southern outskirts of Berlin. The airport consists of two terminal complexes. The terminals 1 and 2 are located in a newly built airport building, while terminal 5 is located a 10-minute drive away on the grounds of the former Schönefeld Airport (SXF) . Both terminal complexes are well connected to public transport. From the train stations BER Terminal 5 and Terminal 1/2, S-Bahn trains as well as regional trains depart in short intervals toward the center of Berlin.
