Traveling to Berlin by train is a comfortable and environmentally friendly alternative to airplanes. You can reach the German capital by the fast InterCityExpress (ICE), InterCity, EuroCity and InterRegio trains as well as by regional train. Several night train lines also connect Berlin to other large European cities such as Brussels, Amsterdam, Vienna and Zurich. The Berlin-Warszawa Express is another special train line connecting the German and Polish capital cities.

Travelers getting to Berlin by train arrive at one of the city's main train stations. Almost all international, national and regional trains stop at Berlin Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). All of Berlin's railway stations have direct links to public transportion.
