Getting to Berlin by car: routes, distances, and important information for drivers.

Highways and national roads lead drivers from all directions to Berlin. All roads to Berlin cross the highway which encircles Berlin, known as the "Berliner Ring". From there feeder roads, urban highways and exits guide drivers towards the center of Berlin.

Getting to Berlin from the North

Travellers coming from Stralsund take the A20, A11 and A10, until exit 36 "Berlin-Weissensee". From there they continue their journey on the federal road B2.

Getting to Berlin from Direction Stralsund / Greifswald

Drivers coming from the northeast get to Berlin using the highway (Autobahn) A20. They should stay on that road until the junction "Uckermark" and then follow the A11 towards Berlin. Then, after about 750 meters more on the A10 you reach the exit 36 "Berlin-Weissensee". From there, continue on national road (Bundesstraße) B2 towards Berlin. The B2 leads through the dristricts of Malchow, Weißensee and Prenzlauer Berg to the center of Berlin.

Travellers getting to Berlin from direction Hamburg or Rostock reach Berlin via the A24 und the A10.

Getting to Berlin from Direction Hamburg / Kiel / Rostock

Drivers coming from the northwest get to the Berlin by getting on highway A24 east of Hamburg and continuing until the junction "Wittstock/Dosse". Then, follow the A10 towards the center of Berlin.

Visitors heading towards the Berlin exhibition grounds or Kurfürstendamm should leave the A24 at the junction "Oranienburg" and proceed on the A111 towards "Berlin-Zentrum (Zoo)". Leave the highway at exit 8 "Eichborndamm".

Getting to Berlin from the East

Travellers from Dresden reach Berlin's urban motorway A 100 via the motorways A13 and A113.

Getting to Berlin from Direction Dresden / Chemnitz / Cottbus

Motorists driving to Berlin from the southeast should use either highway A13 or A113 in the direction of Berlin. Both lead to Berlin's city motorway A100. Take exit 20 "Tempelhofer Damm" and follow the B96 towards Kreuzberg. Visitors to the Berlin exhibition ground should continue their journey on the A100 towards Berlin-Charlottenburg.

Getting to Berlin from Direction Frankfurt Oder

Visitors to Berlin coming from the east can reach Berlin via the highways A12 and A10. At the Schönefeld junction (exit 11), change onto the A113 towards "Berlin-Zentrum" and continue on the A100. At exit 20 "Tempelhofer Damm", follow the B96 towards Kreuzberg. Travellers heading to the exhibition grounds or Kurfürstendamm should follow the A100 towards Berlin-Charlottenburg.

Getting to Berlin from the South

Travellers from Frankfurt / Main and Munich use the highways A9/E51, A10 and A115 to reach Berlin.

Getting to Berlin from direction Frankfurt / Stuttgart / Munich

Drivers coming from the south and southwest can reach Berlin via the highways A9/E51 and A10. At the Nuthetal junction (exit 16), follow the A115 towards "Berlin Zentrum / Berlin-Zehlendorf". Drivers heading to the Berlin exhibition grounds or Kurfürstendamm should stay on the A115 until the motorway junction "Funkturm" and then change onto the A100 towards Hamburg/Wedding.

Getting to Berlin from the West

Travellers getting to Berlin from Hannover use the highways A2 and A10 to reach the capital. At the highway junction Nuthetal their route follows the A115 towards Berlin-Zentrum, Berlin-Zehlendorf.

Getting to Berlin from Direction Dortmund / Bremen / Hanover

Drivers approaching Berlin from the West should use the highways A2/E30 and A10. At exit 19 (Potsdam), follow the signs leading to "Berlin-Zentrum". The route continues on the A10 until the highway junction Nuthetal. From there, the A115 leads towards the center of Berlin. Travellers who want to visit the exhibition grounds or Kurfürstendamm should continue on the A115 until the Funkturm junction Funkturm and then change onto the A100 towards Hamburg/Wedding.
