By choosing the right tourist pass, Berlin visitors can save a lot of money. Here's all you need to know about the different tourist passes and their advantages.
So-called tourist passes, tourist cards or city cards are increasingly popular with visitors. Depending on the scope of services desired, you can use public transport for the duration of your visit and enjoy reduced or free admission to museums, events, sporting activities and other attractions for a package price.
Comparing the different offers is worthwhile in any case, because the validity period, prices and services of the tourist passes can vary considerably. In the following three examples, the 72-hour cards and the 3-day cards are compared.
Price and brochure:
The Berlin WelcomeCard valid for 72 hours and local public transport fare zones A and B costs 34 euros per person. The ticket includes a printed guide with tips and tours, a removable city map for Berlin and Potsdam as well as a network map for local public transport. The validity period of 72 hours begins at the time of validation.
Reduced entrance fees:
The Berlin WelcomeCard grants discounts of between 25 and 50 percent for over 200 sights and attractions as well as discounts with various partners.

Notice:
"The Berlin Pass" is issued by a company based in Britain and is aimed at tourists. It has nothing to do with the "berlinpass", which the city of Berlin offers to Hartz IV or welfare recipients.
Reduced entrance fees:
The Berlin Pass allows holders to visit about 60 sights and attractions for free.
Where can I buy The Berlin Pass?
The Berlin Pass can only be ordered via the Internet and must be collected from a central location in Berlin. It can also be sent by post for a fee.
If you want to save money with a tourist card, you should check exactly what the individual passes offer and how much of the sights you actually want to visit. So ask yourself if you really need the discounts to justify the purchase price. Also important: Since the use of the public transport is free of charge for holders, this alone could justify the purchase of a tourist pass.
