Private Walking Tour: The Third Reich in Berlin

The Third Reich walking tour focuses on the time between 1933 and 1945 when the National Socialist regime had Germany under their control. From Berlin they ruled over almost all of Europe, which was conquered with war and blood and which took so many lives. The holocaust was planned here, the genocides and horrible war crimes which marked the 20th century so decisively.

The tour visits Wilhelmstraße, which was the central government district of the Nazis. They shaped the street in several ways by creating new and restructuring existing authorities and architecture and by using the street itself as a political stage, i.e. with military parades. Today the exhibition "Topography of Terror" enlightens its visitors about the time of the brutal dictatorship between 1933 and 1945.

Wilhelmstraße is only one of many sites to illustrate the rise and fall oft he Nazi regime. The guides will provide historical context and explain in what ways Germany copes with its dark history today.
