Niko is running around the apartment excitedly because the guests are coming soon. It’s his eighth birthday and he really wants to celebrate! And he’s invited his best friends, Miray and Karl, to his party. His mom has to work today, but his dad helps him with the preparations. Finally, once every one is gathered in the living room and has started singing “happy birthday”, the doorbell rings: the girl from next door, of all people, is standing at the door! She’s been accidentally locked out of her apartment. Niko’s father asks her to come in so that she doesn’t have to stay in the hallway alone, waiting for her mother. Niko can’t really say no. The fight seems to be pre-programmed, and the party, which he had imagined would be so great, really gets out of control in the course of the afternoon.
At the end of the day, the children don’t just find the treasure, they find each other in new and unexpected ways.
