KILL ME

Marina Otero

With her overwhelming, radical, but also humorous and intimate stage language, Marina Otero consistently fills the theatre with contradictory energy. As in her performances “LOVE ME” and “FUCK ME”, both of which were part of the “¡PROTAGONISTAS! Resistance Feminisms Revolution ” festival at HAU in June 2023, the choreographer and dancer also draws on her own biography in “KILL ME”. Otero’s sultry performances are part of her “Remember to Live” project, a never-ending body of work in which she is her own object of research – a process which will continue until the day she dies. In this new creation, she explores her own mental illness. In ecstatic dance sequences as well as autofictional and self-deprecating texts, Otero is joined by four performers and an actor playing ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinsky in a game of reality and fiction about mental health and the madness of love.
