Slavs and Tatars präsentieren im Rahmen von Scenes of (Un-)Translatability ihre neue Lecture-Performance Hung Tongue. Slavs and Tatars ist ein international bekanntes Künstlerkollektiv, das sich in ihrer Arbeit auf das Gebiet östlich der Berliner Mauer und westlich der Chinesischen Mauer, bekannt als Eurasien, konzentriert. Hung Tongue erforscht Voice-Over-Übersetzungen und was sie uns über die Performativität von Sprache erzählen. Mit einer reichen Geschichte in den ehemals realsozialistischen Ländern Mittel- und Osteuropas wird Voice-Over-Übersetzung oft als 'Arme-Leute-Synchronisation' bezeichnet. Von Actionfilmen über Hörbücher bis hin zu Nachrichtenberichten fordert uns Slavs and Tatars heraus, unsere Vorstellungen von Respekt und Respektlosigkeit in Bezug auf Text, Sprache und insbesondere das Sprechen über andere zu überdenken.
