RUNDFUNKCHORLOUNGE: 100 JAHRE RUNDFUNKCHOR

Jubiläumskonzert »Chor der Zukunft?«

For the choir’s hundredth birthday, it is high time not only to look back, but also to pose the question of how the choir of the future might look. To do so, we are addressing the question of the »Choir of the future?« at the season’s first anniversary concert. How will programming look in the future? What access needs to be created?

The Rundfunkchor launched an ideas competition to collect and highlight more perspectives from society.

The host for the evening is Boussa Thiam, who will speak with guests who go beyond borders quite naturally with their music. Among others, the composer Taner Akyol has composed an arrangement of his well-known political ballad »Gocmen Kuşlar« (migratory bird) specifically for the occasion; we will premiere it jointly with the singer and baglama player Derya Yıldırım (known as the lead singer of her band Grup Şimşek). Aiko Hasegawa, a young composer originally from Japan currently living in Berlin, will be present with a premiere. Juvenile compositions by Lili Boulanger, Amy Beach, Benjamin Britten and others will round off the evening, making it a comprehensive musical revitalisation treatment.
