Tokio Hotel's debut single "Durch den Monsun" was an instant breakthrough in 2005. Their debut album "Schrei", released at the end of September 2005, also reached the top of the charts in Germany and Austria. While the band used to be known for its rock and pop sound, today it also mixes in synth pop and electro. With more than 10 million records sold in 68 countries and over 70 platinum and well over 100 gold awards, Tokio Hotel is one of the most commercially successful German bands.
