Palace are a band familiar with being tossed to and fro by the tides of life. Vocalist Leo Wyndham, guitarist Rupert Turner and drummer Matt Hodges were originally school friends in Dorset. The trio began playing together in 2012 (along with early bassist Will Dorey) after fate brought them all to London separately. Living in multi-band artistic hub The Arch in Tottenham and inspired by a range of artists including Nick Drake, Cocteau Twins, John Fahey, Neil Young, Jeff Buckley and Radiohead, they conjured up a captivating swirl of sound and emotion - equal parts intricate alt-rock, gritty blues, icy melody, cosmic echo and exotic experimentation - and became an almost instant streaming hit, with over a million plays for early EPs Lost In The Night and Chase The Light.
