Following the outstanding success of the 2022/23 tour, world star Deborah Sasson was once again recruited to take on the role of Christine for the season. The interplay between the singer and Germany's number one musical theatre star, Uwe Kroeger, who continues in the role of the Phantom, has been celebrated by audiences and the press everywhere.
Since 2010, "The Phantom of the Opera" by the writing team of Deborah Sasson and Jochen Sautter has been captivating audiences on the stages of Europe. Now the forced break of the last few years has been used creatively to completely revise the production musically. The successful British musician Ryan Martin, who has composed and arranged music for Cirque du Soleil, America's Got Talent, Netflix, BBC, ABC, CBS and Fox USA, among others, was recruited for the project.
The spectacular stage design is characterised by the effective, three-dimensional video projections by internationally acclaimed multimedia artist Daniel Stryjecki as well as the grandiose stage elements built by Michael Scott of the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
This new production, which was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the novel "Le Fantôme de l'Opéra" written by Gaston Leroux in 1910, is one of the most successful touring musicals in Europe. The production sets itself apart from all previous musical interpretations of the literary material by sticking closer to the original novel and incorporating well-known opera quotations in parts of the music composed by Sasson.
The role of Christine is interpreted by the internationally acclaimed Boston soprano and Echo Klassik prizewinner Deborah Sasson. Her multi-faceted and powerful voice is perfect for this mixture of opera and musical. The Phantom is played by musical superstar Uwe Kroeger, who has captured the hearts of audiences since his breakthrough in the role of Death in the world premiere of Elisabeth.
A large ensemble of selected singers, dancers and actors from German-speaking countries also take part.
