Based on the ZDF series "Ku'damm" produced by UFA Fiction, this critically acclaimed work by multiple Grimme Award winner and author Annette Hess is the source of the musicals "Ku'damm 56" and "Ku'damm 59".

With the successful musical "Ku'damm 56", which alone attracted over 300,000 visitors from Berlin and Brandenburg, Peter Plate, Annette Hess and Ulf Leo Sommer celebrated their musical debut in autumn 2021. But it will by no means remain a one-hit wonder. Plate and Sommer's current production of Romeo & Juliet - Love is Everything has already been successfully extended until January 2024. The trio is currently working on their third production: "Ku'damm 59 - The Musical" is in the starting blocks!

Ku'damm 59 - The Musical at the Stage Theater des Westens
This stage musical is not only the sequel to "Ku'damm 56", however, but also a stand-alone work about the Schöllack sisters Monika, Eva, Helga and their mother Caterina. "Ku'damm 59 - The Musical" tells the story of four fearless women who fight for emancipation and for their self-discovery in Berlin at the end of the 50s. They break out of the social corset and defy all rules of decency.

"Ku'damm 59 - The Musical" is the product of a lively creative exchange and the unified understanding that the stories of the rebellious Schöllack women are not over yet.

With outstanding musicians, artists and creatives, with passion and enthusiasm for the project, the production will premiere at Berlin's most beautiful theatre, the Stage Theater des Westens, in spring 2024.

Premiere on 5 May and regular performances from 7 May 2024 onwards

Artists/Collaborators: Annette Hess (Autor/in), Peter Plate (Autor/in), Leo Sommer (Autor/in)
