“Our research concept delves into the dynamic relationship between movement, gender roles, subconscious biases, and feminist discourse. The research seeks to investigate the various ways in which dance can be harnessed as a medium for critically examining and confronting societal conditioning that perpetuates gender expectations and stereotypes. We chose this research question because we feel strongly about our responsibility to comment and take action regarding the ongoing repression of women and would like to explore the powerful intersection of art, culture, and social issues. Key aspects of the research might include the examination of choreographic choices, movement vocabulary, and the embodiment of gendered experiences in dance. It will also address how these artistic expressions can contribute to feminist discussions surrounding gender equity, representation, and the deconstruction of traditional gender norms. Dance is the medium we have chosen to explore this research not only because it is our primary area of expertise, but also because as an artistic field, itis one of the few that dominantly consists of women. reinkommen ("coming in") is ada Studio's latest performance series. It gives young choreographers the opportunity to open their work process, invite the audience to come in and to get into conversation.
