Eine bunte Collage. Vor einem orangenen Hintergrund sind es ein pinkes Gummibärchen, ein lila Mund, ein pinker Krokodil, eine pinke Pfingstrose mit einem Auge, ein weiß-lila Hund und drei grüne Menschenschatten zu sehen. Sie sitzen alle zusammen in einem Raum, der nach einem Wohnzimmer aussieht vor einem Fernseher. Das Zimmer ist auch eine Collage und besteht aus einem Boden der wie Himmel aussieht und aus einer Graffiti-Wand.

Queer Family Album is a trans-disciplinary festival that highlights and feeds itself by collaborative efforts from a group of diverse queer artists. Our performance series strives to break barriers and imagine utopias for queer futurities by using a performance-based methodology for queer transdisciplinary storytelling. In 2024 we present our first Volume of Queer Family Album at Ballhaus Ost, featuring world premieres from KAy Garnellen andYvonne Sembene. In 2025 we meet again for Volume 2 at Sophiensaele, presenting anonymous, Juliana Piquero, Joy Mariama Smith and Dylan Spencer-Davidson. The goal? to continue to share and highlight queer experiences and create a space for a community that disrupts mainstream ideologies.

Volume 1:

Humour voyages through queer journeys dialogue with each other. Featuring collaborating artists KAy Garnellen and Yvonne Sembene touching on topics like isolation within queer utopia and queer feminist responses to rigid societal demands and definitions.

 

Queer Family Album is a diverse group of queer artists that are ever-changing and collaborating to present work and create a morphing space of care where we dare to forge queer futurities today.
