Testimonies from the so-called "paradise camp", the Nazi showcase camp Theresienstadt, describe musical creative processes and the power of music and poetry in the face of the constant threat of death. Artistic activities offered the prisoners escape routes from reality and asylum for memories of their former lives and at the same time became an instrument in the prisoners' struggle for humanity as a cultural being. Music will form the centerpiece of the evening.
We are delighted that the mother-daughter duo, consisting of the author Ulrike Migdal (Hanser Verlag) and the internationally successful violinist Liv Migdal, will enter into a dialog of music and text with us.
