Das Netzwerk um George Grosz und Bertolt Brecht: Felix Weil und Karl Korsch

Felix Weil gründete 1923 in Frankfurt a. M. das Institut für Sozialforschung als Plattform für marxistische Forschung und Lehre, aus welchem später die berühmte „Frankfurter Schule“/Kritische Theorie hervorging.

Als ersten Institutsdirektor zog er Karl Korsch in Betracht. Weil war zudem jahrelanger Mäzen von George Grosz, finanzierte vorübergehend den Malik-Verlag und die Piscatorbühne. Er wirkte als Delegierter der Komintern in Südamerika. Karl Korsch wiederum avancierte zum „Marxismus“-Lehrer von Bertolt Brecht und zählte ab Ende der 1920er Jahre zu dessen Kreis. In den 1930er Jahren hielt beider Kontakt, mehrere Wochen verbrachte Korsch – wie Walter Benjamin – bei Brecht in dessen dänischen Exilort.
Alle vier trafen sich nicht nur zur Premiere der „Dreigroschenoper“ am 31.08.1928, sondern blieben über die Zeiten hinweg einander vielfältig – teilweise auch freundschaftlich – verbunden.
Es diskutieren Prof. Dr. Michael Buckmiller (Herausgeber der Karl Korsch Gesamtausgabe), Dr. Hans-Peter Gruber (Zentralarchiv zur Erforschung der Geschichte der Juden in Deutschland) und Dr. Klaus Lederer (Die Linke)
