Checkmate - Berlin plays!

Freiland-Schachspiel in Berlin, August 1972

Freiland-Schachspiel in Berlin, August 1972

On admission-free Museum Sunday, the Ephraim-Palais Museum becomes a meeting place for chess enthusiasts. Why do some people enjoy chess for a lifetime? And is it actually still "in"? Immerse yourself in the exciting world of chess, where kings and queens, knights and rooks, bishops and pawns compete to capture the opponent's king - to "checkmate" him, as the jargon goes. You will learn the secrets of this "game of kings" from experienced players. Beginners will be introduced to the game with its many pieces and the 64-square board. Those who already know how to play chess will meet interesting opponents. Everyone can get started right away and compete against each other, whether sitting at the table or standing at the large chess set. With the kind support of SC Borussia Lichtenberg e.V.

Price info: If possible, please book online a day/slot ticket in advance on the Museum Sunday Berlin ticket shop. Online tickets are available respectively one week before each Museum Sunday. For spontaneous visits, tickets are available on site.
