BRENTANO STRING QUARTET

Quartets by Beethoven, Britten, and Lei Liang

For a number of years, Chinese-American composer Lei Liang has been among the most fascinating voices of contemporary music. A 2021 winner of the prestigious Grawemeyer Award, he recently wrote a new work for the Brentano String Quartet, which the four musicians will perform as part of their Pierre Boulez Saal debut. The U.S.–based ensemble, which has served as quartet in residence at the Yale School of Music since 2014, also presents music by Beethoven and Britten.
